Thank you to all my subscribers, especially to my 60 paying ones. This has been a nine month journey. I started last August with 50 family, friends and former clients. After a decade of writing hundreds of stories (some of which are published traditionally), dozens of essays and a dozen completed novels, and trying to get a literary agent and failing, I finally decided the future was Substack. At 40 years old, I couldn’t be happier. I’m making more now than I ever have before with my writing alone. (I also edit books—many of them traditionally published—for money.)
