Awesome. Nothing like a good walk to reassess it all. A long walk is very symbolic in many ways, it gives us a destination, a goal, and once completeted, a sense of accomplishment and closure. Something which life, the ultimate journey, doesn't always do. Great piece, very much enjoyed it.

Buen Camino

I hesitate but…only God can fill the “black hole”.

Funny timing - I just finished the Camino 3 days ago, but only from Sarria. While I was open to transformation, that did not happen for me, or it has yet to sprout through the soil. I was reminded of how wonderful a community of women can be, and how rare that is to find, though. I imagine, were I to start earlier and do it solo, it would offer much more up for me to integrate.

Yes! It's interesting going through the phases of walking alone and together. Both feel necessary.

Thank you for re-issuing this story. I had a close friend who walked the Camino in her mid 20s to find herself after a rough childhood. She may not have found a cure, but she learned a lot as you did. Today she is the happy mother of three boys and wife of a wonderful man… All living their best lives much of it due to what she learned on the Camino. I have nothing but praise for those who succeed on that particular trail.
