Totally. Funny thing. My mom lives in Santa Barbara just above the Santa Barbara Bowl. Dylan played there around 2021. I was visiting my folks. A friend of theirs was out of town and said we could use their house to hear the concert because their house was literally right above the venue. Anyway, we went and sat on the porch and listened to the whole set. My dad was 76, Mom 71 and me 38. None of us recognized a single song. He didn't play one single classic. And I thought, Welp, that's Dylan for you. A true artist, now as then willing to piss off his audience.
Bob Dylan has been my favorite singer for decades. I spent hours learning the lyrics to “Like A Rolling Stone” so I could constantly sing along. I bought all his albums. I am on the fence about the movie. For some reason I have a hard time watching actors impersonating my favorite performers.
Totally. I feel like I only caught the surface layer this first time around. A lot more to dig into. And, man, Timothee Chalamet is a hell of an actor.
If anything, it's his artistic inscrutability that keeps people being fans of him. They want to stay around to see what he does next.

Hey, that was a great review, actually made me want to see a film I thought I would pass on. And that lyric drop! “Punk rock was my savior.” Terrific.
Thanks, Tom! You really should go see it.

I hear you. I get it. I went in skeptical.
This was a wonderful piece. When I get around to seeing it, I'll be thinking of this.
Thank you. Great to hear that!
Great lens to see it through. Awesome movie, and I appreciate it more having read this.
Thank you!! I think it's going to be one of those movies for me that I see multiple times. Like High Fidelity.

Absolutely. I like him. I saw him in that recent Woody Allen movie maybe a year ago. He's good. Damn good.
